Nature and water provide me with limitless inspiration.  I dress almost exclusively in black.  I daydream constantly.  My son is named Auden after the poet W. H. Auden.  I have had a love affair with art and creating for as long as I can remember.  I have been taking photos since I was a little kid with a crappy plastic camera, took some photography classes in college, and photographed my first wedding in 2008.  I listen to Led Zeppelin, The Black Keys, and Lana Del Rey CDs all the time and have never purchased a single MP3 in my entire life.  At one point I was an English major, but sometimes in my emails I use an excessive amount of exclamation marks and refuse to use any form of capitalization.  My favorite word is “lovely”.  I hate pickles.

Photographs preserve your memories.  I’m a firm believer of getting photos off of your electronics - print them out, put them on the wall, give them to your friends and family!  Your photos are a beacon when you lose yourself and need to find your way back to what is most important in your life.  I think that you should look happy, relaxed, and natural in your photographs - which is way more likely to happen if I truly get to know you before we work together.  After all is said and done I want you to feel free to call me up to meet for lunch or to hang out, grab a coffee, and do one of the craft projects that are floating around on Pinterest.  Most of my close friends I met through photography and I would love to add you to that list.

I’m delighted to have had my photography featured in the following publications and blogs: The Knot, bridebook, Free People, Engaged & Inspired, Glamour & Grace, Blacksburg Belle, Capitol Romance, The Lovely Find, Cool Girls Shoot Film, and SWVA Artists Blog.

I have also had the opportunity to exhibit personal projects in gallery shows at the following locations: Burnt Creative Boutique, Floyd Tattoo & Arts Gallery, The Photocopy Club, Main Street Inn Gallery, Community Arts Information Office, The Artful Lawyer, and Green Heron Art Center.

Nature is my biggest inspiration, outdoor weddings are my specialty.  My approach to wedding photography is to stay out of the way for the majority of the day, capturing moments at a distance that you yourself probably didn’t even catch.  To help make sure you have the best photos possible I will create your wedding day timeline for you – and hey, that is one less thing for you to worry about!  I tend to only give direction during formal photos and maybe to ask someone to scooch over a couple inches if they are blocking my view at a crucial moment.  I want to build a relationship with every couple that I work with.  When I arrive on your wedding day, I want you to feel like one of your bridesmaids just showed up.  A year down the road, I want you to call me up so we can go grab a coffee.

Wedding pricing begins at $2500.

These portrait sessions are typically around 90 minutes long and can be used for engagement photos, senior portraits, maternity, family photos, headshots for creative professionals, etc.  I want to capture you being your true self either in your natural environment or out in nature.  Little direction, no backdrops, and no “cheese” unless it is on pizza.  We’ll get to know each other and iron out the details of your shoot via email and I’ll send you some pointers on picking out wardrobe options.

Lifestyle session pricing begins at $250.

My favorite location to photograph boudoir sessions either in your home or if you are feeling extra daring, outside.  I will help you select up to three wardrobe options and give you advice on additional accessories.  I recommend having your hair and makeup done by a professional (hooray false eyelashes!), I know a couple of talented ladies who will make you feel extra glam and confident.  During boudoir sessions I give extra direction and talk your ear off to help you relax.  You get to set the pace based on your comfort level – most women do not get fully nude or even topless for their session.

Boudoir Session Pricing Begins at $250.

There are three different sizes of albums available, each are flush-mount which means the images are printed directly onto the page and can run all the way to the edge of the page.  Each of these albums are available with 10, 20, 30, 40, or 50 pages which are extra thick and will not tear:

  • 5x5 albums are small and discreet, typically used for boudoir albums
  • 10x10 albums are included in my Forever wedding collection package
  • 11x14 albums are heavy duty stuff and my personal favorite which is why they are included my Luxury wedding collection package

Above is an example of the 11x14 album with a linen cover that has been upgraded to include a photo on the cover as well.
