Chris and Sarah’s rustic, vintage-inspired wedding took place at Grayson Highlands State Park back in June. This was one of the most laid back weddings I have ever photographed – the rainy week prior to their wedding ended up resulting in a move of the ceremony location, the pre-ceremony timeline didn’t go as scheduled, but everyone remained completely relaxed and happy and we still managed to get everything done in time! I loved all of their wedding decor, from the family heirloom doilies on the tables to the adorable miniature kerosene lamps. Quilt covered hay bales provided the perfect viewing spot for games of corn-hole and enjoying Coca-Cola from a glass bottle through a striped paper straw.
I was a little bit obsessed with Chris and Sarah’s wedding cake which was made by Granny Ruth’s Bakery. I love the shade of light blue, it was hand frosted to perfection, and had a beautiful delicate flower with a ribbon on top. Oh, and it tasted good too! The bride made her own letterpress wedding invitations and RSVP cards. She is even thinking about starting a letterpress business. We bonded over our mutual love for letterpress when I handed over the disk of her engagement photos in one of my letterpressed boxes earlier this year.
