Book Review: "Grit to Great" by Linda Kaplan Thaler and Robin Koval

I like to drink up business books like a tall glass of water so when I needed a little pep talk recently I decided to check out "Grit to Great: How Perseverance, Passion, and Pluck Take You from Ordinary to Extraordinary" by Linda Kaplan Thaler and Robin Koval to help end my pity party and get me back on track.  The basic ideas in this book is not that you have to be born with talent and connections to be successful, your success is all about determination and ability to bounce back after setbacks.  Don’t stress if you haven’t been handed everything your little heart has ever wanted, it will mean more if you work your ass off to earn it yourself.  Don’t stress if you haven’t “made it” before you turn 30, this book is full of examples of people who are now wildly successful thanks to determination and hard work.

I thought this book was great.  If you are needing a little encouragement in your working life or business and feel like you cannot get ahead, definitely check it out.  This book reminds me of the Henry Ford quote “Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t – you’re right” and with the information and advice in this quick read, hopefully you can find the motivation to keep working hard every day and achieve your dreams.

I received this book from Blogging for Books for this review.
