Todd and Grace’s wedding preparations started at Hotel Roanoke. As soon I stepped off the elevator at the hotel, I was excited to see a familiar face – Caleb Lee, the extremely talented owner of East West Production who I worked with last year at Brittany and Nelson’s backyard Galax wedding. We made our way down to the hotel room where Grace was getting ready. She wore her mother’s wedding dress and carried the most heavenly gardenia bridal bouquet which was a replica of the one that her mother carried on her wedding day. Their wedding was made up of so many sweet sentimental details – her grandmother’s clip on earrings clipped to her sparkly gold shoes, photos of family members and old wedding albums on display at the reception, and so many more.
The Star Line Roanoke Trolley (by far the most beautiful public transportation I’ve ever seen) shuttled the wedding party and guests to St. John’s Episcopal Church for the wedding ceremony and then to the City Market Building where the reception took place upstairs in Charter Hall. Their band was through East Coast Entertainment and absolutely amazing – the dance floor was packed all night! Cakes by Lisa did such a great job with the wedding cake, there was a chocolate ganache filling that made me melt. The night ended with a sparkler send off outside of the City Market, the vintage getaway car drove away through a row of guests holding sparklers.
