Kindell met Patric through the fire department where her dad volunteered alongside Patric. They were introduced by the best man in their wedding, Joe. For their first date they went to dinner at Hickory Tavern and to see The Hangover, then came back to her house where they stayed up all night talking in her driveway until she had to get ready for work at 6AM. Patric proposed to Kindell on her favorite beach at the Outer Banks. He had his cousin go down to the beach and write “Marry Me” in the sand so she would see it when they went to take their dog, Letti, for a walk.
Their Kentucky Derby themed wedding took place at a gorgeous horse farm in my hometown Floyd, Virginia called Owl Hollow Farm. Kindell, her mother, and her sister practically grew up on the farm there coming into town frequently to ride their horses that are boarded there. The owners of the farm are basically family to them, one of whom provided Kindell with the charm on the handle of her bouquet that was very special to her. The awning of the stables provided shelter for Kindell and Patric during the torrential downpours during the wedding. During the reception, the groom and all of the groomsmen serenaded Kindell and everyone partied so hard that the bride and groom were led out of their wedding in handcuffs by two police officers (take that sparkler exit)!
