Lily + Jonathan’s Sinkland Farms Wedding

Jonathan and Lily met at Radford University. They knew each other for 4 years throughout Army ROTC and both commissioned and graduated from Radford University. When Jonathan proposed to Lily, he sent her on a scavenger hunt around Radford to their favorite places and date locations that led her to the proposal location atop of a train trestle over the New River (where they had went on their very first date).

When Lily first told me that her wedding party consisted of 9 bridesmaids and 9 groomsmen, I have to admit I was a little intimidated. I’d never seen such a large wedding party before, but on the day of the wedding I was completely blown away by how close and intimate it felt. Lily and her bridesmaids got ready at Hotel Roanoke where I felt like I was welcomed into a huge slumber party of ladies doing each others hair and makeup.

While I would call the style of Lily’s wedding decor vintage eclectic, she told me the theme of her wedding is “Goodwill” because that’s where most of the decor came from. Almost every detail of the wedding day was put together by the bride and her friends and family – from the floral arrangements and bouquets of peonies and hydrangeas to the lace tablecloths, chalkboards, and repurposed vintage picture frames that made up the decor of the reception space.
