I met Margarita and David back in January for coffee and pastries at Panera, then we ran off to do their engagement session at The Oaks Victorian Inn in Christiansburg. They are the sweetest most loving couple and absolute naturals in front of the camera. They took the lead and hardly needed any posing direction at all – perhaps it was because Margarita had experience as a model when she was a child. I had such a great time working with them for their engagement session, I had been eagerly awaiting their wedding day for months so I could see them again.
Margarita and David were married at the Hahn Horticulture Garden. We took photos of the groom and groomsmen around the Virginia Tech campus before the bride arrived, David is a VT alumni so he had some great sentimental locations in mind. I loved the handmade details of their wedding – the reception table numbers were hand painted by the bride and groom and wedding favors were heart magnets hand-made by the bride’s mother who also put together the bride and bridesmaid’s bouquets. The Beatles played as their recessional from the ceremony, and I got extra teary eyed. Some delicious food, heartwarming toasts, and photo booth fun later everyone poured onto the dance floor for HOURS of dancing. Margarita told me later that the guests continued dancing long past the time I left, even after the dance floor was taken away!
