Virginia Winery Wedding Photos
I don’t get to travel very often so when the opportunity arises to photograph a wedding out of town, I LOVE it, especially when it is to work with a couple as sweet and laid back as Stephen and Trisha! I packed up my gear and headed out to Culpeper for their wedding at Old House Vineyards with one of my former brides along to second shoot with me. This gorgeous duo met at Penn State University while they were raising money for a service trip to Panama. Fast-forward to just before Thanksgiving of this past year, Stephen contacted me about taking photos of him and Trisha and their puppies. He had secretly had the breeder of their newest puppy engrave “will you marry me” on the puppy’s tag! Cuteness overload. While the furry members of this little family weren’t at the wedding, you can see plenty of their adorable faces in Stephen + Trisha's Beliveau Estate Engagement Photos!
I fell in love with Trisha’s wedding gown the second I saw it [and that is BEFORE I saw it on her which made it look 100 times better], a gorgeous Maggie Sottero gown from Chantilly Lace Bridal in Blacksburg that fit like it was designed just for her. Just look at that lace detailing, so stunning! Good Earth Flowers created some floral masterpieces for their bouquets and arrangements with hydrangeas, lilies, ferns, eucalyptus leaves, snapdragons, roses, peonies, and astilbe. DJ Repeatable aka Chris Girardi did a fantastic job with music, [props from me for playing The Cure, Lovesong] and my second shooter liked the music so much that she made him a handmade award to show her appreciation. I even caught a few seconds on video of Trisha’s grandparents dancing that was so sweet that I cried when I recorded it and every single time I watched it afterwards.
Trisha and Stephen’s color palette was pink, blue, and white with a winery theme. Each table was named after a type of wine and the place cards were tinsy ice buckets with little wine bottles, each centerpiece had a cobalt blue wine bottle holding the table number, and wine-related keychains. Their wedding favors were coffee from The Cheese Shoppe in State College, Pennsylvania – a family owned coffee roaster that Trisha and Stephen loved in college. They had a wedding dessert bar made up of cookies that were homemade by family members, a tradition from the groom’s family that was quite a treat! Even the sugar cubes for the coffee were special – little pink hearts, some with the letter “H”, and some with the Nittany Lion paw print from their alma mater Penn State.
