Valerie + Brian's Smithfield Plantation Wedding

Wedding Photos at Smithfield Plantation at Virginia Tech

Valerie and Brian met in the summer of 2010 when they worked together at Zeppoli’s, an Italian restaurant in Blacksburg.  Brian was working in the kitchen as a cook and Valerie was working as a server as she finished up her last semester as an undergraduate student at Virginia Tech.  In August of 2014, they took a vacation to Acadia National Park in Maine.  Brian proposed when they went to see the sun rise on Cadillac Mountain, the highest point on the East coast and the first place that the sun touches on the East coast at sunrise.

Valerie is a huge Harry Potter fan, I was so excited when her officiant, Dianne Friedman, incorporated a Dumbledore quote into the ceremony that I had her email me over that portion so I could include it in this blog post:

As Albus Dumbledore said to Harry Potter, speaking of the power of love: “There is a room in the  Department of Mysteries that is kept locked at all times. It contains a force that is at once more wonderful and more terrible than death, than human intelligence, than the forces of nature. It is also, perhaps, the most mysterious of the many subjects for study that reside there. It is the power held within that room that you possess in such quantities and which Voldemort has not at all." [Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix]
